Mount Saint Mary’s University continues to earn national recognition for creating opportunities and supporting student success. In the , the Mount ranked No. 8 (tie) among Regional Universities in the West for Social Mobility and No. 10 among Top Private Schools in the West (tie). The University also ranked No. 11 for Best Value among Regional Universities in the West.

The University's No. 8 ranking for Social Mobility highlights the University’s commitment to helping students from diverse backgrounds access higher education, persist through college and graduate prepared to pursue their career goals. The Social Mobility ranking considers how successfully institutions enroll and graduate students from lower-income backgrounds, including students who receive federal Pell Grants.

Mount Saint Mary's serves a diverse student population and has long focused on expanding access to higher education and creating pathways to opportunity. Programs and initiatives across the University are designed to support students throughout their college experience, from academic and career preparation to financial assistance, mentoring and opportunities for hands-on learning.

The University’s No. 10 ranking among Top Private Schools in the West also recognizes the academic experience and resources available to students. U.S. News evaluates institutions using a range of measures related to academic quality and student success, including graduation and retention, faculty resources, academic reputation and outcomes after graduation.

The Mount also ranked No. 11 for Best Value among Regional Universities in the West, a recognition that considers academic quality and the overall value of an institution. Together, the three rankings highlight different aspects of the student experience, including access and outcomes, academic resources and educational value.

“These rankings are a testament to the transformative work and dedication of our exceptional faculty and staff, who are deeply committed to helping our students reach their full potential and achieve their goals,” said Mount Saint Mary’s President Ann McElaney-Johnson.

The 2027 U.S. News rankings also reflect changes to the used to evaluate colleges and universities. This year’s rankings introduced a new “Earnings by Major” measure that examines the earnings of graduates four years after completing their bachelor’s degree, using data from the U.S. Department of Education’s College Scorecard. The new measure replaces graduate indebtedness as a ranking factor and is intended to provide additional insight into post-graduation outcomes.

The recognition comes as Mount Saint Mary's continues to expand academic and career opportunities for students, including new programs in health sciences and initiatives focused on career readiness and economic mobility. The University launched its comprehensive (M)POWER career-readiness program in 2025, providing students with opportunities to develop career skills and earn industry-recognized credentials throughout their undergraduate experience.
